Cementitious crystalline waterproofing system

Description

ABAK CemShieldPro Crystalline is a deep-penetrating cement-based material designed for waterproofing both old and new structurally sound concrete, brick, block walls, and concrete floors. It effectively addresses water leakage, ingress, or seepage in concrete and cement-bonded structures. By forming insoluble crystals within water-bearing capillaries and fissures, it creates a barrier that prevents the further passage of water, ensuring long-lasting water tightness. ABAK CemShieldPro Crystalline is supplied as a powder and is mixed with water before direct application to concrete, brickwork, blockwork masonry, or cement renders for general waterproofing purposes.

Advantages

  • Ready-to-use formulation, simply mix with water and apply.
  • Provides excellent waterproofing properties by becoming an integral part of the applied structure.
  • Non-toxic and non-tainting, safe for use.
  • Dual action with both crystalline and surface effects.
  • Can be applied to damp and wet surfaces.
  • Allows the substrate to breathe, preventing moisture buildup.
  • The migratory crystalline action can be reactivated if future water contact occurs.
  • Cost-effective alternative to expensive construction repairs.

Application Area

ABAK CemShieldPro Crystalline is suitable for use on both new and old structurally sound surfaces. It can be applied on the negative or positive side and effectively prevents dampness caused by groundwater permeation. It is suitable for various applications, including:

Basements, cellars, underground garages, undercrofts, etc.
Foundation slabs.
Retaining walls.
Water treatment and sewerage plants.
Pre-stressed and pre-cast concrete units.
Tunnels, subways, silos, irrigation channels.
Lift shafts.
Vehicle maintenance pits.

Coverage

ABAK CemShieldpro crystalline offers a coverage rate of approximately 0.9kg/m² for the first coat and 0.8kg/m² for the second coat. However, the actual coverage may vary based on the condition and texture of the substrate being treated.
