APP-Modified Membrane Enhanced with Non-Woven Glass Fiber Reinforcement
Description
ABAK VitroFlare is an exceptional, high-performance, pre-fabricated modified bitumen membrane, incorporating a proprietary waterproofing compound reinforced with a spun-bonded non-woven glass fiber mat.
The exclusive waterproofing compound of ABAK VitroFlare consists of carefully selected bitumen modified with Attactic Polypropylene (APP) to provide enhanced elasticity and flexibility. It is further enriched with a blend of Thermoplastic Polymer (TP) and Elastoplastic Copolymer (EPC) to ensure high heat resistance, greater elongation, and low-temperature flexibility. The compound is fortified with opaque Mineral Stabilizers (MS) to enhance impact resistance, UV resistance, and overall durability.
The superior waterproofing compound is reinforced with a strong, dimensionally stable, rot-proof spun-bonded glass fiber mat, further strengthened with continuous strands of glass threads to maximize its strength. The combination of the proprietary compound, unique reinforcement, advanced ABAK process technology, and stringent quality assurance procedures results in a highly reliable and dependable waterproofing membrane.
Usage
ABAK VitroFlare is a versatile, all-purpose membrane suitable for single-layer or multi-layer roofing systems, underground waterproofing, multi-story car parks, pond lining, irrigation canal lining, swimming pools, and any structure requiring high-performance waterproofing. It is particularly well-suited as the initial layer in multi-layer systems.

FINISHES
Surface Options
ABAK VitroFlare is available in four primary finishes:
-Black smooth finish with polyethylene surfaces for covered applications.
-Colored granule surfacing for exposed applications.
-Embossed aluminium foil surfacing for exposed applications.
-Black fine-sanded upper surface for coated applications.
Quality Assurance
In addition to undergoing rigorous regular testing at ABAK’s laboratory, our products are periodically tested by independent laboratories to ensure consistent quality.
Compliance
ABAK VitroFlare meets the requirements and tolerance levels of
-UEAtc (European Union of Technical Agreement)
-MOAT 27-1983 and MOAT 30-1984,
-CGSB (Canadian General Standards Board) 37-GP-56M – July 1980.
Required Tools for Installation
A gas torch, knife, trowel, measuring tape, marking string, and gloves.
APPLICATION PROCESS
ABAK VitroFlare can be installed using the torch welding method, either loosely laid or fully bonded to the substrate. In loose-laid installations, only overlaps are bonded together. Peripheries and protrusions are sealed according to specifications.
Estimated Coverage
(Note: Rates may vary depending on site requirements)
Flat areas: Approximately 1.15 M2/M2 per layer with 10 cm side laps and 15 cm end laps.
Base flashing: 100×35 cm with 15 cm end laps, approximately 0.40 M2 per linear meter.
Average wastage: Approximately 3-5%.
Torching Instructions
The underside of the membrane should be torched to a superficial melting point of the bitumen. Excessive heating may cause damage to the reinforcement. Overlaps should be reheated from the top and resealed using a trowel to ensure proper seam integrity.
